Explore the scenic coastal waters of Casco Bay
Join other paddling enthusiasts at Portland’s East End Beach for the 2008 Kayak Rendevous—an exciting all-day fundraiser for Rippleffect’s youth and community programs.

Choose your own adventure!
A fun day on the water, or A Race for the Prize!

Paddle the waters of Casco Bay with experienced instructors, guides and support teams. Paddle past Mackworth Island, The Brothers or Clapboard Island for incredible views of Portland’s skyline and the islands of Casco Bay. When you register, you’ll be asked to choose the Fun Route, or the Race Route. The Fun Route offers paddlers a 3 mile, 1 to 2 hour journey to Cow Island, where further adventure on our 400 foot zip line, great music, and good local food awaits. We recommend this route for families, nature enthusiasts, and new paddlers.

The Race Route offers a competitive edge for more aggressive paddlers, with a 7 mile, 2 to 3 hour paddle that will ask you to push through a sprint course and an incoming tide. We recommend this route for more experienced paddlers and athletes.

Awards at all levels
Get on the water and work up a healthy appetite as you paddle to Cow Island for a celebration barbeque and award ceremony. You’ll see kites flying and hear live music greeting you on shore. Relax with a cold ginger beer or root beer from Maine Root, demo a kayak and celebrate at our outdoor food and musicfest, stomping to the tunes of Emilia Dahlin and the Toughcats!

Our highest fundraiser will win a new Necky Kayak! Our Race Winner will win the coveted Black Paddle award! A graphite bent shaft Werner (c) paddle!
